Maryam Parvaneh Khaledi

Maryam Parvaneh Khaledi, 76, passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2026, with her beloved son by her side. Born in Tehran, Iran, Maryam was the daughter of Abbas Khaledi and Belgheys Sivashi. She is survived by her sisters Eftekhar and Fatemeh, of Tehran, Iran; her brother, Abbas Khaledi of Foster, Rhode Island; and her beloved nieces in Iran. She is also survived by her devoted son, Farhad Khaledi of Foster, Rhode Island, and his wife, Amanda DeStafeno; her cherished grandchildren, Nikolas and his partner, Virginia; Abigail and her partner, Elijah; Tyler Khaledi; and Lucas and Abigail Alsfeld. She also leaves behind her treasured great-grandson, Elijah Parker, Jr. In 1984, Maryam made the courageous decision to leave her beloved homeland of Iran and immigrate to the United States to give her son the opportunity for a brighter future. Leaving behind her mother, sisters, extended family, lifelong friends, and the country she loved was one of the greatest sacrifices of her life. Although her heart always remained connected to Iran, she never doubted that building a new life in America was the best gift she could give her son. She worked tirelessly in the restaurant industry, demonstrating remarkable strength, determination, and resilience. In 2016, she proudly became a citizen of the United States, embracing the country that had become her second home while never forgetting the first. Maryam was the heart and matriarch of her family. She believed that family was life's greatest blessing, and every decision she made was rooted in love and sacrifice. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved, sharing meals, laughter, and the traditions that connected her family to her Iranian heritage. Her kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion created a legacy that will live on for generations. Maryam's greatest accomplishment was not measured by wealth or recognition, but by the family she nurtured and the opportunities she created through her courage. Her decision to leave everything she knew so that her son could have a better future shaped the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Her love will continue to be felt in every family gathering, every shared tradition, and every act of kindness inspired by her example. During the final 10 months of Maryam’s life, her brother, Abbas, provided unwavering love, support, and dedication. His compassion, presence, and commitment to caring for his sister during her illness were a true reflection of the bond they shared. The family is forever grateful for the countless ways Abbas stood by Maryam and helped bring comfort and support during such a difficult time. In accordance with Maryam's wishes, there will be no calling hours or visitation. Her ashes will be returned to her beloved homeland of Iran when the time is right, allowing her to rest once again in the country where her life's journey began. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the many nurses and physicians who cared for Maryam over the past 10 months, as well as the dedicated members of Foster EMS, whose compassion, kindness, and unwavering support brought comfort to both Maryam and her family during this difficult time. Though Maryam built a beautiful life in the United States, a part of her heart always belonged to Iran. Her story is one of extraordinary courage—the courage to leave home, to sacrifice for the people she loved, and to build a future for generations she would one day watch grow. She leaves behind a family that is her greatest legacy, and a love that will forever bridge two countries, two cultures, and countless hearts.
