Eugene Andre Lefebvre

Eugene Andre Lefebvre, lovingly known as “Geno,” passed away on May 2, 2026, at the age of 68. A resident of Glocester, Rhode Island, Geno was born on December 22, 1957, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to Marguerite (Fregeau) Doti and Lucien Lefebvre. Geno was raised in a large family as one of six children, a foundation that shaped his deep appreciation for family throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1976 to 1980, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. As a Tank Crewman, he was initially stationed at Camp Lejeune and had the opportunity to travel throughout the world during his service. He earned the Rifle Marksman Badge, Pistol Badge, and Good Conduct Medal, honors that reflected his dedication and discipline. Following his military service, Geno built a career in the jewelry industry. He owned his own polishing business and later worked for Tiffany & Company, where his craftsmanship and work ethic were highly regarded. On May 16, 1987, Geno married the love of his life, Shelly (Marqus) Lefebvre. Together, they built a life centered on love, commitment, and family, raising four children. Geno was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who worked tirelessly to provide for his family and ensure they had the best life possible. Geno found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Always cracking a joke or making a smart remark, he loved to laugh and enjoyed making others laugh too. His favorite past-time was driving, always taking the long way to every destination. There wasn’t a backroad he didn’t know. He loved the outdoors, whether gardening, fishing, or hunting. Though he grew up in the city, he truly had a country heart. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shelly Lefebvre; his children, Toni Papa and her husband Anthony, Jamie Lefebvre and her fiancé Michael Carleen, Joel Lefebvre, and Marqus Lefebvre; and his cherished grandchildren, Lily Papa and Caden Carleen. He is also survived by his mother, Marguerite Doti, wife of his late stepfather, Rocco Doti; his siblings, David Lefebvre and his wife Cynthia, Ronald Lefebvre and his wife Lyliam, Marc Lefebvre, Joseph Lefebvre, and Lorraine Sandbach and her husband John; along with many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Geno will be remembered for his fun-loving personality and his dedication to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A committal service will be held on Friday May 8th at 11am at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Please plan to meet in the administration parking lot no later than 10:45am.
