Christopher William Gufler

Christopher William Gufler, 63, of Coventry, Rhode Island passed away peacefully on August 15, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family. Christopher was born March 16, 1959 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania to Ruth Aileen (Layer) Gufler and the late Albert William Gufler. Adored husband of Carolyn Hahn Gufler for 28 years, loving father of Paige Hahn Gufler and her fiancé Michael, and daughter Samantha Hahn Gufler. Also survived by his cherished siblings; Karen Greenleaf and her husband Christopher DeLaRosa of Westminster, Colorado; Albert Lloyd Gufler, and wife, Diane, of Warwick, Rhode Island; Susan Brown, of Harrisville, Rhode Island; and Martin Cleveland Gufler and his wife, Terri, of Swedesboro, New Jersey. Christopher adored and shared many memorable moments with all of his nieces and nephews of which he had many. Christopher had a compassionate heart, an amazing sense of humor, and a love of the outdoors. He loved long walks on the beach and “to put his feet in the water” with his girls. Another passion of Chris’s was fishing. He would sneak out of the house in the early morning with his gear, eager to cast his pole in the peace and quiet waiting for the fish to bite. He developed a love of nature photography posting pictures for family and friends to enjoy. During the holidays Chris manned the task of “fry guy” when pierogi-making day came around. He also made his famous French toast soufflé for Christmas morning. He was a great host who was known for making killer Cosmos for family, friends, and neighbors. Chris had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a witty, happy go lucky, funny guy. He was famous for playing pranks on his siblings. When people think about Chris they would anticipate what funny and off the wall thing he would say next. He always welcomed his daughter’s friends in the home as if they were his own, but also saying “do you ever go home?” He was quite the entertainer and kept the party going. Christopher was well loved and will be truly missed by all. If you knew Chris he definitely put a smile on your face. Everything around us reminds us of you, it makes us feel connected to the most amazing man who provided for us, protected us, and loved us unconditionally. You will always remain “Beautiful in our eyes.” Rest our dear Christopher, you are pain free. We all love you for eternity. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., followed by a Service at 6:00 p.m. in the Winfield & Sons Funeral Home, 571 West Greenville Road, Scituate.
