Banjo Bob Sundstrom passed away in the peace and comfort of his Coventry home on Jan. 3, 2015. He was surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Anna (Piti) Sundstrom, and their five sons and daughters-in-law. Jim and Lina Sundstrom of Nevada, Bill and Linda Sundstrom of Warwick, John and Amy Sundstrom of Scituate, Bob and Robin Sundstrom of Virginia and Frank and Paula Sundstrom of Warwick and his brother Bill of New Hampshire. He also leaves his grandchildren, Jonathan, Gregory, Bronte, Owen, Alexandria and Jesse. He was grandfather to the late Mitchell and Matthew Sundstrom. He was born in Onset, Massachusetts, raised in Chicago and has lived in Rhode Island for 45 years. He graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago and worked as an artist and a dixieland jazz musician. He had a passion for keeping the music of the 1920™s, 30™s and 40™s alive. He was a member of various bands including the Original Salty Dogs. Playing mostly in the Boston area, his music also welcomed fans into Celtics games and brought smiles to people commuting on the Boston subway system.A Celebration of his life and music will be held on January 25th from 1:00-5:00PM at Chans Jazz and Blues Club, 267 Main St., Woonsocket, RI. www.chanseggrollsandjazz.com
