    Richard A. Stein

    November 11, 2018

    Stein, Richard A., 93, longtime resident of Scituate, passed away suddenly on Veterans Day November 11, 2018. He was the husband of the late Celeste (DeRosa) Stein. Born in Scituate, a son of the late Otto and Lena (Angell) Stein. He attended the Clayville Church in Foster for many years. He served as a deacon and was a Sunday school teacher and a trustee. He was an Army veteran of WWII, serving on 552nd Field Artillery in Europe. The Battalion landed at Utah Beach in June after D Day. He also served in the Battle of the Bulge. Richard is survived by his daughter Beverly Tirrell and her husband David of Scituate, son Richard Stein and his wife Donna of Scituate. 6 grandchildren Jackie, David, Bethny, Karl, Kevin and Kristen and 8 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Marjorie Stein Higgins and Frederick Stein. Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday November 17th from 9-10:00 a.m. in the Winfield & Sons Funeral Home, 571 West Greenville Road, Scituate with a funeral service to immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 860 Howard Ave., New Haven, CT 06519 or to the St. Elizabeth Home, 1 St. Elizabeth Way, East Greenwich, RI 02818
