    Gretchen Lee Snyder

    May 6, 2022

Gretchen Lee Snyder aged 71, passed away May 6, 2022. Born in Jacksonville,Texas, she was the daughter of the late Paul Snyder and the late Alma Elizabeth Hood; wife of the Anthony W. Rabaiotti; devoted stepmother of Commander Anthony M. Rabaiotti, US Navy and his wife Sasha Rabaiotti, grandmother of two grandchildren, Alexander and Gabriella; sister of Karen Elizabeth Wammack and brother Paul Gene Snyder; niece of Mattie Norman; cousin to James Cox. Gretchen was a lover of the arts and after high school studied piano and music. As a young woman she travelled from Texas to Rhode Island where she settled for the duration of her life. She continued her passion for the arts throughout her life and her work reflected that love. She worked at RISD as a model, a chef at Providence Cheese Company and spent her mid life pursuing the art of stained glass and writing. Her love of music expanded to both dance and jazz as she matured. In her thirties she met Tony and they lovingly designed and built the house where she would spend her remaining days. She designed beautiful spaces and gardens throughout the property and would spend hours among the flowers and bees. Gretchen was an animal lover throughout her life but had a special love of cats. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Shady Acres,164 Danielson Pike, Foster, Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity, 389 Greenwich Ave Warwick, RI 02886 www.habitat.org
