Gordon Albert (Shorty) James, 81 of 70 Lincoln Avenue Cranston a gifted musician, passed awaySunday February 9, 2014 after injuries sustained by a hit and run driver.He was the youngest of ten children. Shorty James was born in Cranston R.I.He was the son of the late Lionel Henry James and the late Mary Elizabeth (Whitney) James.He is survived by a brother Charles T. James and his wife Marjorie James of 28 Dean Avenue Johnston.Also two sisters, Susan E. Whitehead of Warwick and Lillian C. Hassett of Cranston R.I. He also leavesbehind several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George L. James, Louise L. James,William V. James and Allen H. James. He was also the brother of the late Dorothy I. James andMarjorie H. James. Mr. James was a Korean war veteran, serving with the 43rd. Signal Company ofthe 43rd.
