Drury, Frances “Fran” (Fanelli), 85, of North Providence, died peacefully on October 21, 2020 at Rhode Island Hospital following complications from a subarachnoid hemorrhage. She was the beloved wife of Leo Drury. Born in Providence, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Marino) Fanelli and sister of the late Gerald Fanelli. Besides her husband, she is survived by daughter, Julie Cerrito, son Jeffrey Drury (wife Amy Pettine), son Christopher Drury (wife Michaela Cannon) and son Leo Drury (wife Stephanie Drury). She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Robin Drury, the wife of her son, the late Jason Drury. She was the adoring nonna to nine grandchildren - Walmen, Lee, Shane, Cameron, Samantha, Max, Ainsley, Elijah and Evelyn. Fran grew up in the Federal Hill section of Providence. She graduated Mount Pleasant High School. She retired as an employee of the State of Rhode Island, working for many years at the Kent County Court House. Always on the go and eager to connect with people, she took up several volunteer roles after retirement, including time at the South Providence Neighborhood Ministries, Butler Hospital, and, for many years, the Providence Performing Art Center. She was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan. In consideration of the pandemic, services to honor her life will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Amos House, 460 Pine St, Providence, RI 02907. To ensure that the family receives any and all online condolences you may wish to share, please submit only to the funeral home’s website [ www.winfieldandsons.com ] and not through a third party. Thank you!
