Steven Joseph Richard

Steven “Steve” Joseph Richard, age 55, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 23, 1969 in Providence, RI. He is survived by his parents, Russell and Lois (Brennan) Richard, he is greatly missed by his loving wife, Nakita; son, Christian; sister and brother-in-law, Susan “Susie” and Anthony Cucca. His memory lives on with his nephews, Anthony and Michael; mother-in-law Cyndi, father-in-law, Charles, sister-in-law, Nicole and brother-in-law Joseph along with other family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. Steve was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church and was devoted to his faith. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, music, sports, especially the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins, Steven enjoyed traveling and experiencing new things. Steve loved animals especially cats, and was a loving cat dad to first Spooky and then to Samantha Baker. Steve graduated from Cranston West High School in 1989. He was never scared to take on new opportunities and did everything with honesty and integrity. He enjoyed working as a Surgical Technician, first at Massachusetts General Hospital then at Fatima Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital. He valued his experience as a massage therapist and focused on lymphatic massage which highlighted his desire and commitment to helping others. Steve was a gentle man with a sly sense of humor. He was inviting and easy-going. He was well liked by everyone, mostly due to his positive energy. Steve will be remembered as very forgiving and patient person who showed compassion and always made time to help others. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that ongoing patience and continued forgiveness are the characteristics of a good and kind soul. Steve found solace and community at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 2nd from 8:00 - 9:15 a.m. in the Winfield & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 571 West Greenville Road, Scituate followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for Steven and his family.
