Steven K. Lawton

Steven K. Lawton, 67, passed away on August 11, 2025. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late David Lawton and Elizabeth A. (Soucy) Lawton. He is survived by his two beloved sons, Steven D. Lawton and his wife Hillary of Framingham, MA, and Daniel K. Lawton and his wife Stephanie of East Greenwich, RI, as well as his former wife, Pamela Lawton of Warwick, RI. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Bianco and her husband Michael of West Warwick, RI; his brother Eric Lawton and his wife Leslie of North Kingstown, RI; and his brother Peter Lawton and his wife Tulay of East Greenwich, RI. He leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews: Amanda Johnson, Sean Lawton, Oliver Lawton, and Charles Lawton. After serving in the National Guard, Steven earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Johnson & Wales University. He went on to work for many years in the high-rise technical sales industry, covering New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and several European countries. He had a remarkable talent for working with his hands, whether building a home addition, repairing a car, or tending to his lawn. He took great pride in doing things himself and doing them well. Steven’s greatest joy was his family, especially his sons. He was a constant presence at their sporting events, particularly baseball and loved sharing in their accomplishments. He had a passion for the outdoors, hiking, golfing, and exploring new destinations. An avid traveler, he enjoyed discovering new places both during his working years and even more so in retirement. Music was another of his passions and he found joy in playing the guitar. In retirement, Steven embraced life to the fullest, cherishing the freedom to travel, spend time with loved ones, and pursue the hobbies he enjoyed most. His warm smile, generous spirit and unwavering love for his family will be remembered always. A gathering will be held on Friday, August 22nd from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service with Military Honors at 11:00 AM in the Winfield and Sons Funeral Home, 571, West Greenville Road, Scituate, RI.
