Robert Weston Farwell

Robert "Wes" Farwell of North Scituate passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025 at the age of 88. Wes is survived by his daughter, Dawn Branch Raposa, and her husband David Raposa of Smithfield, his grandson, Jonathan Branch, and his wife Alyson Branch of Huntersville, North Carolina and his sister, Mary Bainto of Wood River Junction. He is also by three great grandchildren, Ellie, Benjamin and Dawson. Wes will rejoin his wife, Nancy, and his dearly beloved son, Christopher, as well as his mother, father and brother. Wes was passionate about motorcycles, from dirt bikes to his BMW riding bike. He won numerous trophies in his younger days and rode to Nova Scotia and Alaska in his later years. He was still riding late into his seventies and loved every minute. But his risk taking didn't end there; he was bungee jumping at the Extreme Games in Providence in his fifties and skydiving in his seventies with his daughter and grandson. He loved the Boston Bruins and followed them avidly. But he was most at home in his garage, which he lovingly called his Senile Sanctuary. He would spend hours and days there tinkering with and fixing anything and everything for himself and others. There was nothing he couldn't fix, whether it be your house, your car, your toys, anything, whether it needed a major overhaul or just some duct tape. He once even made a wallet out of duct tape and carried it for years. While there is no bigger understatement, Pop was never particular about food or drink. He ate multiple servings of anything, especially if Dawn made it. If you gave him three choices of dessert, his answer was a resounding, "Yes!" He was content with the cheapest of beers, ones that even a broke college freshman would turn their nose up to. But his ultimate love of alcohol was Southern Comfort, even after a waiter on a cruise called it an old lady drink. We've even named our own concoction of a cocktail a SoCo Pop. He was one in a million and everyone who met him loved him. He will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11am in the Winfield & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4pm-7pm
