Inez Gionti

Inez Gionti (Martin), 94, of Coventry, passed away Wednesday November 19, 2025 peacefully surrounded by her loving family after battling many years of Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the beloved wife of Julio Gionti of Coventry, RI and the loving daughter of the late Antonio Martin and Marianna Guimar Martin both of Sao Miguel, Portugal. Inez was born and raised in Fall River, MA with her parents and three sisters, the late Mary Luongo of Tiverton, RI, the late Angelina Estrella of Fall River, MA and Irene K. Hanson of Elk Grove, CA. Together with her husband Julio, Inez was the loving mother of Joia Gionti Natale and her husband John Natale of Port Charlotte, FL and Julie Gionti of Coventry, RI. Step mother of Joseph Gionti and his late wife Susan of Coventry, Julio Gionti, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Crystal River, FL, Mary Jane Gionti Dexter and her husband Donald of Lenexa, KS, Bill Gionti McGinn and his wife Sherry of Panama City Beach, FL and Joe Lavergne of Port Isabel, TX. She leaves 10 grandchildren Camrie St. Pierre Quaranta of West Greenwich, RI, Mimi Palumbo of Coventry, RI, Julio Gionti,III of Weeki Wachee, FL, the late William Gionti of Ashaway, RI, Steven Gionti of Crystal River, FL, Tony Dexter of Shawnee, KS, Emily Dexter Favreau of Olathe, KS and Chris Dexter of Augusta, GA. Step grandchildren Melissa Gionti of Coventry and Michael Gionti of Coventry, RI. She also leaves many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Inez was happily a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, music, reading and spending time with her family. The last seven years, Inez resided at the wonderful Saint Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich, RI. The family would like to thank each and every staff member at Saint Elizabeth’s Home for giving mom the most loving, professional and personal care anyone could ask for. Inez has always wished to have a private service after her passing. We are respecting her wishes but would like to thank the tremendous output friends and family have made to our family in love, support and condolences at this time.
