Dennis Joseph Campopiano

Dennis Joseph Campopiano, 75, of Davenport, Florida, formerly of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on December 15, 1950, in Providence, Rhode Island, Dennis lived a life defined by hard work, unwavering faith, unconditional love for his family, and a generous heart. He was the kind of man who would do anything for those he loved and was admired by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Campopiano (Mennie), with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and devotion. He was the proud and devoted father of Dennis Vincent Campopiano and Christina Lynn Campopiano, who were the center of his world. Nothing brought him greater joy than watching his son and daughter play softball and baseball throughout their lives. Whether at practices, league games, or tournaments, he was always their biggest fan, loudest supporter, and strongest believer. He also leaves behind his beloved grand-puppy, Princess, who brought him endless joy and companionship. He is also survived by his loving brothers- and sisters-in-law, and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives he touched. Dennis was predeceased by his beloved parents, Elio Guido Campopiano and Amelia Campopiano (Raviele), and by his cherished siblings, Anna Narcisi (Campopiano), Anthony Campopiano, and Leo Campopiano. Dennis spent much of his career as a Sanitary Engineer before later working in landscaping and construction. He took tremendous pride in every job he did and was known for his incredible work ethic, dependability, and willingness to lend a helping hand. To those who knew him, Dennis embodied what it meant to be hardworking, honest, and selfless. Outside of work, Dennis had a lifelong love of softball. He enjoyed both playing and watching the game, and some of his happiest moments were spent cheering on his children from the sidelines. His enthusiasm was unforgettable, and his family will always remember his booming voice, unwavering encouragement, and infectious passion for the game. He was also a devoted New York Yankees fan who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team. Those who knew Dennis also knew him by his unforgettable nickname, “Nuts and Bolts.” It was a name that perfectly reflected his larger-than-life personality, contagious sense of humor, and unmatched enthusiasm. Whether he was cheering from the stands, making everyone around him laugh, or proudly supporting his children, Dennis lived life with passion. His family will forever cherish the memories of hearing his voice from the sidelines, knowing every cheer came from a heart overflowing with love. His love for his children knew no bounds—even being asked to leave a few softball games for cheering too enthusiastically never stopped him from finding a way to keep watching and supporting them. Above all else, Dennis will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, an extraordinary father, a caring uncle, and a loyal friend. Family was his greatest joy and his highest priority. He believed in showing up for the people he loved, offering encouragement, sharing laughter, and leading by example. His kindness, strength, generosity, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his love, wisdom, and unwavering devotion will continue to live on through his family and in the countless lives he touched. His legacy is one of love, perseverance, compassion, and dedication. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
